Abraham Kuyper Prize: Congratulations to Eerdmans author Oliver O'Donovan. He has received the 2008 Abraham Kuyper Prize for Excellence in Reformed Theology and Public Life from Princeton Theological Seminary. The award recognizes a scholar or community leader who has contributed to the development of Reformed theology, particularly as it bears on matters of public life.
Kentucky Bluegrass Awards: Annie's War by Jacqueline Levering Sullivan and Attack of the Turtle by Drew Carlson have been selected for the 2009 Kentucky Bluegrass Awards Master List. Throughout the 2008-2009 school year, children across Kentucky will read books from the master list and then vote for their favorite. Check out the entire master list and past winners at kba.nku.edu.
Eminent Biblical Scholar Dies: Eerdmans sadly notes the passing of David Noel Freedman on April 8, 2008. Dr. Freedman, a prolific and influential Bible and Dead Sea Scrolls scholar, was known for editing Eerdmans Dictionary of the Bible and the Anchor Bible series. His current projects with Eerdmans include editing the Eerdmans Critical Commentary and Biblical Resource series.
Wilbur Award: Martin Marty, author of The Mystery of the Child, received a special Wilbur award from the Religion Communicators Council for promoting open and appropriate public discourse on religion. Marty is the sixth person to receive special recognition in the 60-year history of the Wilbur awards.

Dale Brown Book Award: Covenant of Peace by Willard M. Swartley has been selected for the 2008 Dale Brown Book Award for Outstanding Book in Anabaptist and Pietist Studies. This award is organized each year by the Young Center at Elizabethtown College. The Young Center will announce the award Saturday, April 5, at a special event celebrating the 20th anniversary of the center.
Academy of Parish Clergy Awards: Three Eerdmans titles will be honored at the Academy of Parish Clergy annual meeting. God's Ambassadors by E. Brooks Holifield is Book of the Year, The Gospel of Matthew (NICNT) by R. T. France is Reference Book of the Year, and The Jesus Way by Eugene H. Peterson is one of the Top Ten Books of the Year.
