April 15, 2009 — Wm. B. Eerdmans Publishing Company, a Grand Rapids-based religious book publisher, is pleased to announce the hire of Steven Alderman as Director of Sales.

A key member of Eerdmans' management team, Alderman will be responsible for sales to both domestic and foreign religious trade stores, national chains, and distributors. He will oversee the national accounts and wholesalers, manage distribution and inventory, and support the work of subrights agents for Eerdmans' titles. Alderman will also direct the sales team, rights and permissions, special sales, and book club sales.

Alderman has over fifteen years of experience in the book publishing industry, most recently as the Key Account Manager for General Market Sales at Thomas Nelson Publishers. Prior to Thomas Nelson, he was at Standard Publishing as the National Accounts Sales Manager.
