Tom DeVries has worked at Eerdmans since 2001, first in the warehouse and eventually in his current position. Having grown up on the mission field in the Philippines and Guam, he is passionate about everything international, and the years he spent working alongside his parents at Faith Bookstore in Guam gave him an early interest in the international book business. To keep up with the latest news, Tom has a habit of trying to read between five and ten international newspapers every day.

Natalie Kompik

Senior Academic Sales Manager

phone: 616-459-4591 x551
Contact Natalie by e-mail.

Natalie Kompik comes to Eerdmans with a background in ministry and higher education. A series of historical novels and a sixth grade unit on archaeology inspired her love for the ancient world at a young age, prompting her to study classics as an undergrad and later complete an MDiv from Grand Rapids Theological Seminary. Natalie worked most recently in student development and residence life at Cornerstone University, where she also taught as an adjunct instructor of the New Testament. She has a penchant for learning dead languages (three so far), and she enjoys kitchen experiments and good meals, especially those featuring ethnic foods.

Scott Peters

Senior Account Manager

phone: 616-459-4591 x551
Contact Scott by e-mail.

While only with Eerdmans for a few years, Scott has been in the book industry for most of his adult life. Starting as the manager at a small independent bookstore in Grand Rapids (River City Books) in the 1990s, he came to Eerdmans with a background in both retail bookstore management and a well-traveled history in publishing sales. His reading interests from a young age have mostly revolved around history—mostly focused on the middle ages and nineteenth-century America. Aside from reading, Scott’s atypical hobby is collecting historic cookbooks and trying recipes ranging anywhere from Apicius (ancient Rome) to a recent find—a set of recipes dating back to the Australian colonization.
