Series Editors: Michael L. Budde, Stephen E. Fowl
The Eerdmans Ekklesia Series explores matters of Christianity and discipleship across a wide expanse of disciplines, church traditions, and issues of current and historical concern.
The Eerdmans Ekklesia Series is published in cooperation with The Ekklesia Project, a network of persons for whom ‘being a Christian' is seen to be the primary identity and allegiance for believers - superseding and ordering the claims on offer by the modern state, market, racial and ethnic groups, and other social forces. The Ekklesia Project emphasizes the importance of the church as a distinctive community in the world, called to carry into contemporary society the priorities and practices of Jesus Christ as conveyed in the Gospels.
The Eerdmans Ekklesia Series will draw from the broad spectrum of the Christian world - Protestantism of many traditions, Roman Catholicism, Anabaptism, Orthodoxy - in exploring critical issues in theology, history, social and political theory, biblical studies, and world affairs. The series editors are Stephen Fowl, Professor and Chair, Department of Theology at Loyola College in Baltimore; and Michael L. Budde, Professor of Political Science and Catholic Studies and Chair, Department of Political Science, at DePaul University in Chicago.
