John Polkinghorne (1930–2021) was a highly regarded scientist-theologians who served as president of Queens' College, Cambridge, from 1988 until 1996. A theoretical physicist and an Anglican priest, he was also a Fellow of the Royal Society and was knighted in 1997. Polkinghorne’s many books include The Faith of a Physicist and Belief in God in an Age of Science.
